Scheduled to launch on December 15, 2024, these services include an online booking portal for e-rickshaws and e-autos and the introduction of Pink Taxis operated exclusively by women drivers.
The Mahakumbh, which takes place once every 12 years, is expected to attract approximately 45 crore devotees to Prayagraj, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. To address the massive transportation needs while aligning with its Green Mahakumbh initiative, the state is focusing on sustainable and innovative solutions.

1. Online E-Vehicle Booking Portal
The newly introduced e-rickshaw and e-auto services will operate through a dedicated online platform. The system, modeled after popular ride-hailing apps like Ola and Uber, will allow devotees to book rides at fixed, affordable rates. These vehicles will be available at key transit points such as:
- Railway stations
- Bus stands
- Airports
- Hotels

2. Pink Taxis for Safety and Empowerment
One of the standout features is the launch of Pink Taxis, driven exclusively by women. - Trained Drivers: Drivers will undergo comprehensive training, including the use of Google Voice Assistance for effective communication with pilgrims from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
- Transparent Fare System: The fare will be calculated on a per-kilometer basis, ensuring affordability and eliminating inflated charges often associated with local transport.
- Dedicated Call Center: A 24/7 grievance redressal system will be available to address complaints and provide support to passengers.

In addition to the e-vehicle services, the government is deploying a vast transport network to cater to the massive influx of visitors:
- 7,000 roadway buses and 550 shuttle buses will operate during the event.
- Indian Railways will run over 3,000 trains, including 1,000 additional services, to ensure smooth travel.

Comfy E Mobility: Driving the Change
The e-vehicle initiative is spearheaded by Comfy E Mobility, a startup based in Uttar Pradesh. The company has committed to:
- Launching an initial fleet of 300 GPS-enabled e-rickshaws covering Prayagraj and the Mahakumbh region.
- Ensuring safety and transparency through trained drivers and fixed fare structures.
RK Chauhan, CEO of Comfy E Mobility, highlighted the dual goals of the initiative: reducing pollution and creating employment. “Our vision is to provide eco-friendly and affordable transport solutions while enhancing the overall experience of devotees,” Chauhan said.
