Amritsar: A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by vigilant Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Monday morning near the International Border (IB) in Amritsar district of Punjab. The BSF Public Relations Officer (PRO) confirmed this and said that after the incident, action is being taken to hand over the body of the intruder to the Ramdas police station as per the necessary legal procedures.

Full details of the incident
According to the official statement issued by the BSF, on March 3, 2025, in the morning, vigilant BSF personnel noticed the activities of a suspicious person. He was stealthily entering Indian territory from the Pakistani border and moving towards the border security fence taking advantage of the fields and rough terrain. This incident took place near Kotrajda village in Amritsar district.
BSF personnel challenged the intruder as soon as they saw him, but instead of stopping, he started running fast towards the border. When he ignored the warning of the soldiers and adopted an aggressive attitude, the soldiers opened fire in self-defense and killed the intruder on the spot. When the soldiers conducted a thorough search of the spot, a mobile phone was recovered from the intruder.
BSF foiled another infiltration
The BSF PRO further said that the alert and responsible soldiers have once again foiled the nefarious plot to infiltrate India from across the border. This incident is another example of attempts to infiltrate and spread terror from across the border, which was foiled by the BSF soldiers in time.
BSF officials say that there are continuous infiltration attempts from Pakistan, which may be aimed at creating instability in India. In recent years, there has been an increase in such activities on the Indian border, but the alert BSF soldiers have always been successful in foiling such conspiracies.

Security tightened at the spot
After this incident, security has been tightened further in the border area. BSF personnel are constantly patrolling and every suspicious activity around the border is being closely monitored. The local administration and security agencies have also been alerted so that any possible threat can be prevented in future.
Increasing activities of Pakistani intruders
According to BSF data, there has been an increase in incidents of Pakistani infiltration in the border areas of Punjab in the last few months. Security agencies believe that there may be a conspiracy of terrorist organizations across the border behind these incidents. BSF officials are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter and trying to find out whether the killed intruder was associated with any big terrorist organization or not.
Statement of local administration
A senior officer of Ramdas police station said that the BSF has handed over the body of the intruder to the police as per the legal process. The police is investigating the matter further and efforts are being made to know what was the purpose of the intruder and which organizations were behind him.
Conclusion
This incident near Kotrajda village in Amritsar district has once again proved that the BSF personnel deployed on India’s borders are fully prepared to deal with every challenge. Their vigilance and bravery has foiled another potential threat.
The BSF has appealed to the citizens to immediately inform the security forces about any suspicious activity in the border area, so that the security of the country can be ensured. source ndtv
