Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has been appointed the 9th Chief Minister by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has returned to rule Delhi following 27 years. Her new position has resulted in much improved security measures with Z level classification. Reflecting her higher political level, this improvement guarantees her protection in public and private spheres.

Delhi Police has strengthened protection at her house according Home Ministry directives. Four police officers in the front, four at the rear, and two commandos placed for round-the-clock monitoring make up the configuration. Two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) would also always be with her to provide tight protection. She will be followed throughout official moves by an escort car loaded with qualified security guards, therefore ensuring an instant reaction to any threats.

Third-highest degree of security in India, Z category security is meant for those with significant risk-profile. Usually, politicians, judges, businessmen, celebrities, and other well-known personalities get this degree of security. Together with Delhi Police, ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), or CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), the security detail comprises 22 armed personnel—four to six NSG (National Security Guard) commandos. Local law enforcement works together as required to guarantee thorough coverage.

India ranks VIP protection on many tiers:

SPG Security: Reserved just for the Prime Minister and their closest family.

With 55 security officers—including elite NSG commandos—the Z+ Category is the second highest level.

Assessed 22 armed security guards under Z Category.
  • Y+ Category: Comprising eleven guards.
  • Y Category: Offering eight-person security.
  • X Category: Providing two-person basic security.

Rekha Gupta is now among the recognised political leaders on the list given such high-level protection. She also notes the fourth BJP politician holding the CM seat following Sushma Swaraj, Sahib Singh Verma, and Madan Lal Khurana, copying Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dixit, and Atishi as the fourth woman CM of Delhi.

Her oath-taking ceremony will take place on the main event honouring BJP’s return into Delhi, Ramlila Maidan. This improved security system ensures her capacity to do her duties free from personal safety concerns, thereby maintaining concentration on government and public service. source oneindia
