Section 163 imposed in the city

Section 163 of BNS (which is similar to Section 144 of IPC) has been imposed in Nagpur to maintain law and order. According to media reports, 20 police teams have been formed to restore peace.

Nagpur DCP Archit Chandak said that the incident happened due to a misunderstanding and the situation is now under control. He appealed to the public not to come out of their homes and not to pelt stones. He said, “Some policemen have been injured and I have also suffered a minor injury in my leg.”

Security of Aurangzeb’s tomb located in Chaturpati Sambhaji Nagar has also been increased. The District SP said that one company and two platoons of SRPF personnel have been deployed there to prevent any untoward incident.

Cabinet Minister Bawankule leaves for Nagpur

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a half-hour meeting with Maharashtra BJP President and Cabinet Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule at his official residence ‘Sagar’.
